OFFICE OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY
Information Technology Manager (Enterprise Architect) (23240566)
HKBU has embarked on a digital transformation journey that would disrupt the digital experience of all sorts of users - students, teachers, and administrators included. Apart from enhancing the application systems and IT infrastructure to boost productivity and streamline business processes, fundamental changes are being introduced to user’s online and mobile experiences. All websites are being migrated to Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) with Adobe Analytics (AA) serving to capture & analyse web activities. A Shopify-powered e-commerce website has been set up for the Clinic Division of the School of Chinese Medicine. Analytics from both the e-commerce website and the HKBU mobile app traffic are similarly captured using AA to enable data-driven decision-making across multi-channel activities.
We are looking for a team player who understands the alignment between business and technology as well as the tactfulness required to make change. If you are a Solution Consultant, Solution Architect, System/Data Architect, Principal/Lead Software Engineer, Principal/Lead System Manager, Principal/Lead Software Designer, or Customer Success Lead/Manager (technology-focused), this could be your next step.
Responsibilities:
• Establish, maintain and enforce enterprise architecture framework, principles, best practices and policies that govern the use of IT across the University in different IT domains in line with strategic business priorities;
• Articulate the architecture vision and promote the adoption of IT strategic projects to senior stakeholders;
• Contribute to the design of the Target State Architecture and the development of the Architectural Roadmap with the aim to optimise the application landscape and technology portfolio for an efficient IT operation;
• Collaborate with business users, internal technical teams, and vendors to define and implement the enterprise technology roadmap and proactive technology refresh plan;
• Lead the effort in new technology evaluation and onboarding, followed by establishing new standards, best practices and guidelines;
• Lead the effort in strategic enterprise architecture planning and execution such as optimising application portfolios, establishing technology reference models and mapping to capability models; and
• Perform ad hoc assignments and responsibilities requested by supervisor.
Requirements:
• A bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science or related discipline;
• Minimum 8 years or above work experience gained in the development of major systems and/or enterprise architecture;
• At least 3 years of experience in information systems analysis/design and architecture development experience; consultancy experience in architecture engagements a distinct advantage;
• Professional credentials in TOGAF, ITIL, DevOps, Agile, CI/CD or relevant disciplines will be an advantage;
• Solid experience in emerging technologies including cloud and on-premises computing, API management, data management & analytics, and system security;
• Hands-on experience in designing application with high scalability, throughput, fault tolerance, recoverability, and maintainability;
• Experience in development, testing, managing, and supporting healthcare systems including clinic management systems and hospital systems would be an advantage;
• Good analytical, presentation, documentation and report writing skills;
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong leadership skills and commitment; and
• Must be a self-starter with strong decision-making skills and ability to work under pressure.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written test.

The initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract up to two years. Re-appointment thereafter is subject to performance review and mutual agreement.
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
