SCHOOL OF CONTINUING EDUCATION
The School of Continuing Education (SCE), one of the eight Faculties/Schools of the University and a major provider of continuing and professional education in Hong Kong, offers a wide range of full- and part-time programmes at the post-secondary, undergraduate and postgraduate levels for young learners and working adults. It also offers in-house training and short courses to meet the community needs and market demands. Operated on a self-financed basis, the School and its College of International Education currently employ about 400 full-time staff and 500 part-time instructors. The School is inviting applications for the following position:
Information Technology Officer (Project Management) (23240202)
Responsibilities:
• Collect user requirements and prepare functional requirement documents;
• Work with development team/vendors to design, implement and test new features for information systems;
• Participate in tender process i.e. design, document requirements, and review tender submissions;
• Document test plans and coordinate acceptance testing such as user acceptance test, system integration test, load test;
• Organize meetings with vendors and stakeholders to review accomplishments, action items, issues, risks, and project plans;
• Conduct user trainings; and
• Provide support to special projects as assigned.
Applicants should have a recognised degree in IT/Computer Science or related disciplines. They should have at least five years of work experience, of which two years are in the role to manage IT projects. Knowledge of and experience in school related projects is a plus. The appointee should possess excellent communication and problem-solving skills with patience, and ability to meet deadlines and multitask. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a written test.
The initial appointment will be offered on a fixed-term contract of two years. Re-appointment thereafter will be subject to mutual agreement and availability of funding.
Candidates with less work experience will also be considered.
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
