About the Role
As an SME the Design Research Lead is responsible for monitoring the performance of all digital assets across all markets, conducting research as required to provide customer insights that inform improvement plans, and work with GO and BU teams to ensure that improvement plans have the necessary impact: • Defining and monitoring key UX KPIs in digital tools in AIA markets • Uncovering and articulating actionable insights as a subject matter expert• Evangelizing the importance of design research across the markets and provide support and guidance to local BUs• Connecting usability effectiveness with business objectives and data analytics
Roles and Responsibilities:
• Continuously monitor market performance and user feedback for AIA's digital tools, analyzing key metrics and identifying opportunities for improvement
• Support the optimization of AIA's digital tools by collaborating with Product Owners and Digital Platform teams to develop and execute research-driven optimization plans
• Execute user testing for Group North Star journeys, ensuring user validation of proposed designs and providing clear recommendations for optimization
• Select and apply appropriate research methods (e.g., heuristic evaluation, user research) to meet specific research objectives
• Conduct research on low-rating apps and low conversion rates, identifying root causes and working with business units and design teams to develop solutions
• Uphold design research standards and best practices across all markets, ensuring consistency and quality of research conducted
• Participate in knowledge sharing and mentorship as a Design Center of Excellence (CoE) expert, contributing to internal learning programs
• Maintain Group Design Research Repository with research materials for reference by BUs
• Lead and support community meetings for Design Research evangelization and cross-group/business unit sharing
• Guide business units as a subject matter expert on usability and research matters
• Collate and deliver research related reporting materials to support CTO/CEO level presentations
• Oversee and manage 3rd party research vendors as required
Minimum Job Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree
• Well versed in heuristics review, a wide variety of research methodologies and platforms, experienced UCD process
