About the Role:
We are looking for a hungry and passionate Digital Marketing and Social Media Director who will have a leading role in building our digital marketing program, in particular our social media, and leading monthly product launches, during this hyper-growth phase and be an integral part of our company for years to come.
There is significant economic and equity upside for a hungry marketing director – as well as reputational upside – Chamelo is on pace to do $7 million in our first year and we are projecting to grow to $24 million next year to $60 million in 2026 to $140 million in 2027… and then IPO.
We are 95% D2C through our Shopify store so you will be at the helm of our most important channel!
The Digital Marketing and Social Media Director will be responsible for designing and executing Chamelo’s comprehensive annual marketing and promotional calendar, coordinating efforts across digital and offline channels to ensure brand consistency and maximize impact. This role involves close collaboration with product development, creative, and marketing teams to synchronize campaigns with Chamelo’s business objectives and key launch timelines. The Director will spearhead product launches, creating a buzz around each release to drive engagement, sales, and customer interest. By aligning the marketing calendar with strategic goals, they will ensure each launch receives maximum visibility and aligns seamlessly with the brand’s growth trajectory.
In addition to overseeing the annual marketing calendar, the Digital Marketing and Social Media Director will play a vital role in defining and refining Chamelo's customer retention strategies. This includes managing the entire customer journey with a focus on retention efforts through email and SMS communication, creating targeted and personalized content to enhance customer loyalty. This role requires a deep understanding of data-driven approaches to retention, aiming to maximize engagement and build long-lasting relationships with Chamelo’s customer base.
The Director will also develop and manage an affiliate marketing program to drive revenue and brand visibility. This involves recruiting potential affiliates, maintaining relationships, and providing necessary support to align with Chamelo's brand image. By establishing effective partnerships, the Director will focus on generating consistent, scalable growth through affiliate-driven sales, ensuring the program aligns with broader business objectives. Analyzing and optimizing affiliate performance will be key to refining these strategies over time.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Marketing and Promotional Calendar:
• Devise and manage the annual marketing and promotional calendar across all digital and offline channels.
• Coordinate with internal teams to ensure marketing strategies and campaigns align with overall business goals.
2. Product Launches:
• Plan, execute, and manage product launches to ensure maximum impact and revenue.
• Collaborate with product development, creative, marketing and other relevant departments for a seamless launch process.
3. Customer Retention:
• Manage all retention efforts, including email and SMS newsletters and flows.
• Develop strategies to increase customer retention and loyalty through targeted communication and personalized content.
4. Affiliate Program Management:
• Develop and implement an affiliate program strategy to drive revenue and brand awareness.
• Identify and recruit potential affiliate partners and influencers.
• Manage relationships with affiliates, providing them with the necessary resources and support.
• Monitor and analyze affiliate program performance, optimizing strategies for better results.
• Ensure affiliates adhere to brand guidelines and maintain a positive brand image.
5. Social Media Strategy:
• Develop and manage social media strategies and calendars to increase brand awareness, engagement, and revenue.
• Oversee day-to-day activities on social media platforms, including content creation, scheduling, and posting.
• Monitor social media trends and emerging platforms to ensure the brand stays current and relevant.
• Engage with the audience through comments, messages, and other interactions.
• Analyze social media metrics to measure the effectiveness of campaigns and strategies.
6. Oversee Organic Content Creator Program
• Hire content creators
• Develop content strategies and ideas
• Manage content creation cal and workflow
• Oversee posting and repurposed content
• Work towards revenue and profitability goals
7. PR and Influencer Management:
• Oversee PR, influencer, and social media departments.
• Manage PR and influencer agencies to ensure alignment with brand guidelines and objectives.
• Develop and execute PR strategies to enhance brand image and increase media coverage.
• Write and distribute press releases, media kits, and other PR materials.
• Build and maintain relationships with media contacts, journalists, and bloggers.
• Organize and manage press events, product launches, and other PR-related activities.
• Monitor and analyze media coverage and public sentiment about the brand.
• Identify and establish relationships with relevant influencers to promote Chamelo brands.
• Negotiate and manage influencer contracts and collaborations.
• Coordinate and oversee influencer campaigns, ensuring alignment with brand guidelines and objectives.
• Track and analyze the performance of influencer partnerships and campaigns.
8. Level up performance creative program
• Develop reporting structure, weekly workflow and build team
9. Level up marketing funnels
• Build out funnels for core customer personas, develop reporting structure, weekly workflow and build team
10. Reporting and Analytics:
• Prepare and present regular reports on the performance of marketing, social media, PR, and influencer campaigns.
• Use data and analytics to inform strategy and decision-making.
• Continuously assess and optimize marketing strategies based on performance metrics and industry trends.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in digital marketing for D2C lead brand, with a focus on social media, PR, and influencer management.
• Proven track record of developing and executing successful marketing strategies.
• Strong understanding of current digital marketing trends and best practices.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills.
• Ability to analyze data and use insights to drive marketing decisions.
• Experience managing agencies and working with cross-functional teams.
