As a Manager, Air Operation you will be working with a team of 6-8 people and will be based out of our office in Shanghai. The Cargo Operations Manager will have accountability and oversight for all cargo operations in China and will leade a team of Cargo Supervisors in different stations. You will be expected to be performing this role on a full-time basis. The role reports to the Country Head.

Job Description
A DAY IN A LIFE
As a start up, you can expect your days to be pretty varied. Multitasking is normal, and sometimes, your skills or natural talents will be leveraged to support other business priorities. That said, the bulk of your working hours should involve you having to:
• Manages and coordinates cargo operational activities of our China cargo flights to ensure the safe, timely and cost effective processing of our cargo shipment and or charter flights.
• Leads a team of Cargo Supervisors across China
• Implements and directs quality control for all cargo operational areas.
• Establishes, monitors, and revises policies, procedures, and service standards for our airport cargo operations.
• Directs and ensures compliance with established AOC policies, procedures and standards in accordance with government regulations.
• Establishes and maintains a record keeping system for all airport cargo warehouse operations regarding volume, damages, safety incidents, productivity, etc.
• Communicates with some or all of the following: our customer services, cargo terminal operator, our customers, load planning, AOC operations control, load control, ramp, station office and Customs to ensure efficient and safe operation of our China flights.
• Oversees the loading and unloading of ULDs onto aircraft at ramp if applicable.
• Investigate, report and implement corrective action for any incident of cargo damage or chargeable delays, cargo/mail mishandling.
• Review all daily, weekly and monthly operational reports to ensure proper dissemination, including but not limited to, shift reports, incident reports, monthly summary report, pay to change notices or work orders, etc.
• Provide operations support to the sales team and ensure customer retention and customer satisfaction.
• Assure the correct and full use of operation enabling applications like SmartKargo and the Freightchain systems.
• Coordinate the cargo flight operations of our wet leased aircraft B737-800F (i.e.K-Mile Air);
• Ensure smooth interfaces between the different functions and cargo operations in our China stations
• Maintain relationship with local aviation entities and related Government Dept to ensure the smooth handling of our cargo flights in China
• Monitor performance of the subcontractors like CTO and airport ground handling agents and initiate corrective measures with our station office in case of non performance.

SKILLS
These are minimum-requirement skills and a ‘must-have’ for the role:
• Strong understanding of Cargo Operation, Ramp Operation, Flight Operation, Cargo Handling Procedures etc.
• Must understand aviation regulations under Greater China area
• Ability to read, fluently speak, and understand the English language and Chinese Mandarin language
• Must possess good communication skills and a friendly, outgoing personality in person and via telephone.
• Must be able to work weekends, holidays, and days off.
• Other duties as assigned
