Position Summary:
The Director of Flight Operations is a key leadership role, supporting as an Accountable Manager in broad operational and strategic management. The key function of this role is the supervision of safe and efficient Flight Operations, leading and supporting the Flight Operations management team and overseeing and developing safety, regulatory, operational and business performance.
Effective collaboration with key stakeholders, leading by good example, managing conflicting priorities and communicating across the broader organization, alongside promoting and development of company culture and driving strategic business direction and ensuring new strategies and company initiatives are implemented.
Main Responsibilities:
• Hold the Nominated Person for Flight Operations for the respective regulatory authority as required
• Liaison with the Competent Authority on all operational and regulatory matters and ensuring compliance with current legislation and the terms of AOC; including attendance at regulatory audits and that a constructive regulatory relationship is always maintained
• Has corporate authority for ensuring that all operations and maintenance activities can be financed and carried out as required and to the standards of the Company manuals
• Co-ordination with Ground Operations Manager, ensuring adequate operational control and trip feasibility processes are efficient and effective
• Ensures safe and efficient flight operations
• Attendance of Safety Review Board (SRB) meetings to monitor the safety performance of he Company and to implement improvement actions as required
• Ensures compliance with all applicable regulations
• Ensures compliance with all national and local environmental laws and requirements
• Establishes standards for employee recruitment, conducts pre-employment interviews, and selects new employees (applicable to flight crew only)
• Establishes and implements all Flight Department flight policies and procedures
• Establishes the standards for Pilot and Cabin Attendant performance and training
• Supervises all aircraft scheduling activities
• Collaborate with Crew Training Manager and contribute to flight crew training programs, operational and training standards and developmental pathways are maintained and improved
• Evaluates outside contract agencies (Fixed Base Operators, maintenance facilities, etc.) to ensure they have adequate facilities, personnel, and experience to perform the required service function
• Administers performance evaluations of Pilots, Cabin Attendants, Administrative Support, and other personnel;
• Serves as a company representative with respect to other corporations, local or relevant authorities
• Develops and maintains the OMA
• Ensures that crew scheduling complies with flight and duty time limitations
• Ensures that flight crew qualifications are current
• Maintains a current operations library
• Oversees Crew Coordination/ Training Department
• Assumes any duties delegated by Senior Director Aircraft Management
• Perform other duties/ ad hoc projects assigned by the Company
Minimum Requirements:
• An above average knowledge of applicable regulatory bodies (EASA, FAA), Flight Operations Manuals, Operations Specifications, Standard Operating Procedures, Aircraft Systems and Performance and Company Policies
• Broad operational experience, including large cabin and worldwide operations
• Proven experience as a senior manager in large flight operations department, leading and developing Operations Procedures, Flight Crew Management, Operational Control and operational standards

The employee must be able to work in both a heavy maintenance environment and in upscale customer areas. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate with occasional high volume when aircrafts arrive/depart. The employee is frequently exposed to vibration. Occasional fuel fumes may permeate the workplace. Employee must be willing and able to work in all types of weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. The Hangar environment may be extreme hot and cold during certain seasons of the year.

• Work entitlements with a right to work in the country relevant to the security and position needs.
