The Role

As Nex's Senior Solutions Architect, you own our e-commerce and internet services architecture, supporting revenue generation, customer experience, product delivery, and the operation of Playground. You have a fleet of SaaS platforms, digital agencies, and development partners at your command. You work with teams of relentless marketers, product owners, and customer success managers to build best-in-class services, optimizing for customer experiences in every aspect possible. Your sensibility, expertise, and flawless execution are pivotal to this success. Your architecture will support millions of customers with hundreds of millions in revenue. You report to the VP of Platform.

You are a veteran in business systems and internet services. You excel at execution and care deeply about end results. You pay attention to every detail and love getting your hands dirty. You believe in Murphy's Law and have profound experience in understanding how things fail. You don't flip coins but take calculated risks. You have ample mental capacity and can see both the forest and the individual trees. You know your limits and always have someone by your side ready to help you.

What you will bring to the table
• Years of experience building and scaling e-commerce and internet services.
• Capacity to design best-in-class internet services.
• Thorough understanding of different mainstream SaaS and cloud platform products.
• Knowledge of industry best practices and pitfalls to avoid.
• Strategic planning skills to support evolution and growth.

Must Have
• Knowledge in cloud platforms including GCP, AWS, and their wide range of products.
• Understanding of microservices, serverless and API designs.
• Experience with e-commerce and payment platforms, including Shopify and Stripe.
• Experience with selling digital goods and online subscriptions, and dealing with one-time and recurring billings.
• Experience with CRM tools, handling of transactional customer communications, and email deliverability optimization.
• Experience with deploying solutions with web and native mobile frontends.
• Experience with tracking, analytics and monitoring.

Should Have
• Strong interest in cutting-edge e-commerce and cloud platform solutions.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to manage complex projects and vendors.
• Effective communication and leadership skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to be hands-on, build and configure systems combining multiple SaaS products and custom solutions.
• Ability to implement business continuity plans and data security measures.

Nice To Have
• Thorough understanding of fault tolerance, fail-safety, downtime prevention, idempotency, privacy, and information security.
• Experience building headless Shopify stores and custom Shopify applications.
• Experience building custom authentication and user account management solutions.
• Relevant industry connections.
