Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Director of Social Media at Luxury Recruit International in Hong Kong SAR. The Director will be responsible for leading social media marketing strategies, communication plans, public relations initiatives, content strategy development, and social media optimization (SMO) activities.
Position Purpose
Our client, a prestigious luxury brand, is seeking a Director of Social Media to lead the development and execution of global social media strategies. This role is crucial in driving brand awareness, storytelling, and engagement through innovative social media campaigns tailored to luxury audiences. Proficiency in Chinese (Mandarin) and English is essential to communicate effectively with key markets and global teams.
Key ResponsibilitiesSocial Media Strategy & Leadership
• Design and implement a world-class social media strategy aligned with the brand’s luxury positioning and overall business objectives.
• Focus on enhancing the brand's digital storytelling across global social media platforms such as Instagram, WeChat, Weibo, and The Little Red Book.
• Develop strategies to grow and engage audiences across all platforms, ensuring consistency with the brand's identity.
Content Creation & Curation
• Oversee the creation and management of high-quality, visually stunning social media content.
• Collaborate with creative teams to produce campaigns that resonate with luxury consumers and reflect the brand’s heritage.
• Tailor content to reflect the nuances of regional markets while maintaining global consistency.
Community Engagement & Influencer Management
• Manage and grow online communities, fostering meaningful engagement with followers and luxury customers.
• Identify and establish partnerships with high-profile influencers (KOLs) to amplify the brand's voice in key markets.
• Develop influencer programs to drive awareness and loyalty, ensuring alignment with the brand's values.
Campaign Execution & Analysis
• Lead the planning and execution of targeted social media campaigns that align with product launches, events, and key brand moments.
• Monitor campaign performance, analyze key metrics, and provide actionable insights to refine strategies.
• Stay ahead of emerging trends, technologies, and platform updates to maintain a competitive edge.
Collaboration & Leadership
• Partner with cross-functional teams, including marketing, PR, and design, to integrate social media into broader brand initiatives.
• Act as a thought leader in social media innovation, driving best practices across teams.
• Manage relationships with social media agencies and ensure effective collaboration to deliver on objectives.
QualificationsEducation
• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communication, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
Experience
• 8+ years of experience in social media management, ideally within the luxury, fashion, or lifestyle sectors.
• Proven success in leading social media strategies for premium brands on a global scale.
• Experience in working with Chinese social platforms (WeChat, Weibo, Little Red Book) is a strong advantage.
Languages
• Fluency in Chinese (Mandarin) and English is mandatory.
Skills
• Expert knowledge of social media platforms, trends, and analytics tools.
• Strong creative and strategic mindset with the ability to deliver compelling brand stories.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with experience working in a cross-cultural environment.
