The RoleThe Senior Analyst Programmer for SAP ABAP is responsible for delivering quality SAP software development and maintenance services in accordance with the Group's Software Development Life Cycle standard.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop SAP modules and complex functions using ABAP programming language.
Creates specialized reports for SAP modules using ABAP programming language.
Designs forms for SAP modules using SAP Script / Smart Forms or Adobe Forms
Troubleshoots and corrects SAP module problems by using the available ABAP debugging or analysis tools.
Look up and implement relevant OSS notes to resolve standard SAP module problems affecting business operations.
Ensure adherence to the organization’s defined SAP Development standards and guidelines when developing the ABAP solutions.
Recognize the existing organization’s SAP solution framework that is in place, and ensure the solution that is designed and built is in line with it.
Prepares comprehensive and thorough technical program documentation including specifications, test conditions, test plans, test data, etc.
Provide recommendations on technical design and analysis.
Interfaces with functional teams to ensure proper understanding and integration of business processes and procedures.
Assist in defining technical requirements for ongoing systems maintenance and future functionality to meet distinct requirements and improve system efficiency.
Provides technical support to other team members on matters related to complex programming of SAP modules.
Interact with local IT team for technology related support.
Key Requirements
Should have between 3 to 5 years of programming experience.
At least 1-2 full lifecycle implementation / upgrade experience
Experience in developing complex cross-application solutions for SAP ECC 6.0
Strong skills around ABAP, ABAP Objects, ALE/IDOCS, BAPI, Interfaces, Enhancements (BADI’s/User Exits), Conversions, Reports (Smart form, SAP Script), Dialog Programs, ALV, FIORI, Adobe Forms.
Programming using classic ABAP techniques to support interfaces, reports, enhancements, and conversions.
Programming using field symbols, use of shared buffers and memory, background program debugging.
Knowledge of session management and batch scheduling is a must.
Effective Programming and/or Performance tuning Activities.
Knowledge on Technical Archiving, IDOC Archiving is added advantage.
Understanding of stress and performance testing
Experience with working on Master Data, MM, SD and FI modules.
Readiness to travel across countries for implementation.
Knowledge on ABAP IS-Retail / SD module is added advantage.
Be able to continuously learn and apply new SAP programming concepts in the organization.
Excellent track record in terms of meeting project tasks and schedules.
