At Carbonbase we are looking for an analytical, sustainability-focused intern to support research initiatives for our carbon registry platform. This is a unique opportunity to get hands-on experience with the fast-growing carbon accounting and offset market while contributing to real climate impact.
Roles & Responsibilities
Conduct background research on GHG accounting methodologies and industry best practices for carbon registries
Review existing protocols (e.g. GHG Protocol, ISO 14064) and evaluation criteria for carbon offset projects
Analyze characteristics of major voluntary carbon markets and registries globally
Assist in methodology selection focusing on aspects like boundary setting, emission factors, data collection
Evaluate offset project types by sector, geography, standardization level, and credibility attributes
Contribute to reports, presentations, and strategy documents to influence product features
Identify data source requirements for emission quantification methods and offset project approval
Skills & Qualifications
Working towards a degree in environmental science/policy, sustainability, or related field
Strong research, analytical, and critical thinking abilities
Passionate about environmental sustainability and climate action
Proficient with quantitative data analysis and presentation software
Excellent writing and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines
Detail-oriented with commitment to accuracy and quality
