The University has taken a proactive role in ensuring and cultivating a positive learning environment for students, where equal opportunities in academic and non-academic pursuit for each individual student are guaranteed. Special Educational Needs Support Team of Dean of Students’ Office provides a wide range of support services and resources to ensure equal opportunity to benefit students with special educational needs (SEN) from a total university experience and to cultivate campus inclusion.
Reporting to the Head (Counseling and Wellness) in leading and planning the operations of SEN Support team, the appointee will (a) enhance the accessibility to learning experience for students with SEN; (b) raise awareness and strengthen the capacity towards students with SEN within the university community; and (c) administer projects and campaigns that encourage integration and mainstreaming of students with SEN into campus life. The appointee is expected to work in close collaboration internally with departments, offices and student groups, and externally with the Equal Opportunities Commission (EOC) and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to promote equal opportunities and assist SEN students to meet their challenges with proactive and positive mindsets. Irregular working hours is required.
Applicants should have a master’s degree, preferably in special education, psychology, psychological counseling, social work or equivalent. Applicants for Senior Manager position should have a minimum of 10 years of relevant post-qualification working experience, preferably with supervisory experience, whereas those for Manager position should have at least 7 years of relevant work experience. The appointee should be fluent in Chinese (both Cantonese and Putonghua) and English. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required. Preference will be given to those with demonstrated ability to work with students at tertiary educational level and have enthusiasm in enhancing the educational goals for the Counseling and Wellness Center. (Duration: 2 years)

Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided. A gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of contract.
