Head of Digital
Our client is a leading e insurer in Hong Kong. They are recruiting for a Head of Digital who is the key front-office owner of the business for our client, the first digital life insurer in Hong Kong, reporting to the CEO and acting as a member of the EXCO.
It has the primary mandate to drive all digital product and sales strategies to fulfill their mission as a digital pioneer with a full fintech outlook and substance. He/she has to ensure that the function operates within the regulatory and risk framework. He/she must also implement the appropriate talent, structure, culture, and oversight capabilities to achieve the function's full KPI.
The responsibilities of this role are:
• Decide on the right digital channel and product mix and allocate marketing/acquisition dollars to support the overall business emphasis.
• Strengthen the existing digital marketing capabilities (social media, content, data, promotion, campaign, SEO, CRM, etc) and develop the right algorithm to maximize our customer reach.
• Develop digital affinity partnerships and an ecosystem that can help expand our overall distribution capabilities.
• Accountable for the overall digital P&L and build the right metrics to track the progress.
• Lead the digital function to evolve as a real sales engine that drives innovation and solutions to support the business agenda that can meet the shareholders' and customers' expectations.
• Collaborate with other business functions to ensure strong connections to work as a bigger team in the same direction.
• Build team capability with the right talents and the right mindset to support a strong delivery pipeline that is effective and efficient.
• Develop a best-of-class vendor model to support the business with agility and cost advantage.
• Ensure the deliverables are well managed with clear business cases, market understanding, and a fit-for-purpose risk framework.
• Manage human and financial resources with solid governance and long-term vision.
The right candidate would usually have:
• More than 10 years of digital sales-related experience.
• At least 5 years experience in directing successful digital initiatives, preferably in a fintech/insurtech environment.
• Deep knowledge of the HK financial market (preferably insurance) and methodology to understand online customer buying behaviors. GBA exposure is an extra asset.
• Exceptional understanding of the digital market and the ecosystem.
• High readiness to thrive in an environment that combines opportunities and challenges (regulatory, compliance, scale, market ambiguities, etc).
• Solid experience and depth working with the CEO, the Board, and others in the leadership team.
• Strong capability in articulating strategies, putting them into clear execution, and connecting all the organization's dots to make things happen.
• Track record in developing effective talent, structure, and culture to win.
• A purposeful mindset and orientation to achieve and to win, and an appreciation of the costs to put in.
• Good organization, oriented planning, dynamic thinking, openness to ideas, innovation spirit, customer sensitivity, and solid commerciality.
• Very fluent in English and Chinese.
