Entry Requirements:
Candidates should have:-
(a) minimum ten years of relevant full-time work experience in artificial intelligence, data science and/or innovation and technology sectors, preferably in managerial role;
(b) previous work experience in investment promotion, account management, business development, marketing and project management related to the artificial intelligence, data science, innovation and technology or public sectors would be an advantage;
(c) a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, more advanced degree(s) and/or professional qualification(s) would be an advantage;
(d) strong knowledge of and experience in the local and global artificial intelligence and/or data science sector;
(e) extensive network in the artificial intelligence and/or data science ecosystem; and
(f) a strong command of written and spoken English and written Chinese and spoken Putonghua.
[Remark: Candidates may be invited to attend a written test.]
Duties:
The Senior Vice President (Artificial Intelligence and Data Science) is mainly responsible for –
(a) Leading the Artificial Intelligence and Data Science Team to source high-potential target companies in the artificial intelligence and data science sector;
(b) Developing and implementing strategies and plans to promote Hong Kong as a leading Artificial Intelligence and Data Science centre and attract overseas and Mainland companies in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science industry to set up in and expand via Hong Kong;
(c) Assisting the Executive Director to implement and follow through tailor-made packages of incentives offered to strategic enterprises;
(d) Collaborating with the Dedicated Teams for Attracting Businesses and Talents in Mainland and overseas, international and local industry partners, government bodies and key stakeholders to generate a strong pipeline of strategic companies in the artificial intelligence and data science sector;
(e) Speaking in business events locally and globally and promote the unique advantages and opportunities of Hong Kong’s artificial intelligence and data science sector;
(f) Ensuring the Team provides quality and customised support services for prospective and aftercare companies in the artificial intelligence and data science sector;
(g) Managing the performance of the Team for target achievement as well as timely inputs to upper echelon; and
(h) Supporting the directorate of Office for Attracting Strategic Enterprises on duties and assignments as and when needed.
Terms of Appointment:
The successful candidate will be employed on non-civil service contract terms. The contract period will normally last for 24 months.
Fringe Benefits
A gratuity may be granted upon satisfactory completion of the full contract period with consistently high standard of performance. The amount of gratuity payable will be the sum which, when added to the Government’s contribution to a Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF) scheme as required by the MPF Schemes Ordinance, equals 15% of the total basic salary drawn during the contract period.
The benefits in respect of rest days, statutory holidays, general holidays, annual leave, maternity leave or paternity leave, sickness allowance, where appropriate, will be granted in accordance with the provisions of the Employment Ordinance and confirmed at the time of the offer of appointment.
