Senior Cloud (AWS) DevOps Engineer - Multi Strat Buyside Firm

My client, a leading, dynamic regional Hedge Fund, is hiring a senior Cloud DevOps Engineer to join their expanding team in Hong Kong.

Responsibilities
• Configure and manage various AWS services like VPC, Transit Gateway, EC2, S3, Athena, Glue, DynamoDB, Lambda, ECS, EKS etc.
• Design and engineer AWS network services.
• Optimize Cloud costs and recommend cost-saving measures.
• Develop/enhance complex distributed systems and sizable applications, collaborating closely with Developers and Portfolio Managers with a business first mindset.
• Manage mission-critical systems in high-stress situations.
• Own the automation of repetitive tasks and resolution of systematic issues.
• Be a source of ideas for improving applications and a part of the team that implements those ideas.
• Mentor and guide Junior Engineers while fostering best practices.

Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in managing and scaling infrastructure
• Able to work independently on projects related to Cloud, DevOps and SRE functions.
• Solid understanding of Microservices framework, and how an app can be containerised and pushed to the Cloud.
• Proven capability to manage the entire CI | CD flow in an automated fashion, and capable of managing the entire GitHub lifecycle via code.
• Proficiency in at least one JVM language (Java, Kotlin, Scala), with Python or Rust skills an added bonus.
• Strong expertise in Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, Crossplane
• Good understanding of security best practices to protect Cloud infrastructure and data
• Experience with GitHub actions, AWS CodePipeline or similar tools.
• Integration experience with financial systems such as Bloomberg API is a strong plus
