Key Responsibilities
Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain MySQL database instances.
Monitor database performance, implement changes and apply new patches and versions when required.
Perform and oversee regular database backups to prevent data loss.
Ensure the security of the database by implementing access controls and regular vulnerability assessments.
Optimize database systems for performance efficiency.
Develop, manage, and test database recovery plans and procedures.
Provide technical support for both database environment and Power BI-related issues.
Collaborate with data analysts to deploy Power BI dashboards and reports that provide meaningful insights into the data.
Maintain the integrity and performance of company databases and ensure that data is stored securely and optimally.
Assist developers with query tuning and schema refinement.
Document database environments and all changes, procedures, and strategies.
Actively learning and seeking out ways to continuously improve.
Experience and Skills
4 years+ in database related experience with 1 year DBA exp
Proven experience as a DBA with a strong focus on MySQL/MariaDB databases.
Experience with database administration, security, backup, recovery, and maintenance in a MySQL/MariaDB environment.
Proficient in writing and optimizing SQL statements.
Good understanding of MySQL/MariaDB features, such as storage engines, ACID concepts, etc
Strong knowledge of data management and data processing flowcharting techniques.
Solid experience with ApsaraDB RDS is a plus.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to effectively troubleshoot database issues and performance bottlenecks.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with an emphasis on the ability to articulate complex database concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Proactive and passionate about new technological trends. Enjoy sharing.
Good command of Mandarin is a plus.
