Major Duties and Responsibilities
The appointee will be responsible mainly for the following:
• Designing and conducting reviews and studies on academic analytics;
• Identifying data patterns and developing analytics dashboards;
• Maintain and enhance existing analytics dashboards;
• Monitoring data analysis activities and ensuring their efficiency and effectiveness;
• Identifying risks and issues related to or informed by data analytics and communicating relevant information to stakeholders;
• Conducting seminars/workshops on academic analytics;
• Preparing technical reports on academic analytics; and
• Undertaking other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Office of Planning and Analysis
Candidates
Candidates should possess the following qualifications, experience and competence:
• A recognized degree, preferably a higher degree with post-qualification experience, in computer science, data science, statistics, business analytics or related areas;
• Training and experience in data analytics for higher education is preferred;
• Proficiency with R, Python, or equivalent programming languages;
• Experience in data mining, data manipulation, statistical analysis, predictive modelling techniques and data visualization;
• Working experience in data analytics tools (e.g. Alteryx, Tableau, MS SQL Analysis Service);
• Strong learning capability on new business knowledge, business processes, analytics tools / techniques and methods;
• Excellent leadership and management skills; strong interpersonal and organizational skills with servicing and collaborating mindsets; and
• Good communication skills in both English and Chinese (preferably including Putonghua).
Applicants with less relevant experience may be considered for appointment as Assistant Manager (Academic Analytics).
Candidates may be invited to attend a written test.
Terms and Conditions for Appointment
An attractive remuneration package, including basic salary, an end-of-contract gratuity, and a discretionary incentive payment, where applicable, will be offered to the right candidates.
