Data Visualization Researcher and Developer

We are seeking an innovative and dedicated Data Visualization Researcher and Developer to join our cutting-edge research team in a full-time, on-site capacity. The successful candidate will work from our Hong Kong office, collaborating closely with team members to advance the state-of-the-art in big data visualization techniques, with a focus on creating interactive, real-time analytics dashboards for complex sensor data.

Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct on-site research in advanced data visualization techniques for large-scale, multi-dimensional datasets
• Develop and implement novel visualization algorithms and methods in our office environment
• Design and create interactive, real-time data visualizations for our per-user analytics dashboard
• Investigate and apply machine learning techniques to enhance data visualization capabilities
• Explore the intersection of augmented reality (AR) and data visualization for immersive analytics experiences
• Contribute to academic publications and present findings at conferences
• Implement research outcomes into our Next.js-based web application
• Collaborate daily with cross-functional teams to integrate new visualization techniques into our product

Research Focus Areas:
• Explainable AI visualizations for complex sensor data
• Real-time streaming data visualization techniques
• Progressive and approximate visualizations for big data
• Narrative visualization and data storytelling methods
• Edge computing visualization for IoT sensor networks
• Human-AI collaborative visual analytics

Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Visualization, or a related STEM field
• Degree must be awarded by either a local Hong Kong university or a well-recognized non-local institution
• Strong programming skills in JavaScript, with experience in React.js
• Proficiency in data visualization libraries (e.g., D3.js, Three.js, or similar)
• Solid understanding of data analysis, statistical concepts, and machine learning principles
• Experience with big data technologies and distributed computing frameworks
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a research-oriented team environment
• Must be a Hong Kong permanent resident or hold a valid Hong Kong work visa
• Willingness and ability to work full-time from our Hong Kong office

Preferred Qualifications:
• Master's or Doctoral degree in a relevant field
• Publication record in visualization, human-computer interaction, or related fields
• Experience with Next.js and Vercel deployment platforms
• Familiarity with WebGL, WebXR, or other web-based 3D rendering technologies
• Knowledge of cloud computing platforms and serverless architectures

Work Environment:
• Full-time, on-site position at our Hong Kong office
• Collaborative research environment with state-of-the-art facilities
• Regular in-person team meetings and brainstorming sessions
• Occasional flexibility for remote work, subject to project needs and management approval

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16,000.00 - $23,000.00 per month
