Brief summary of role:
To assist and support the direct manager in handling the financial and accounting activities and overseeing the compliance for FT's legal entities in Singapore and Hong Kong and support the regional initiatives and projects.
In this role you’ll:
- Handle the full sets of accounts and responsible for daily accounting operations
- Responsible for ensuring a timely month-end closing process including the preparation of general journals, monthly reconciliations and schedules
- Prepare and analyse monthly and annual financial statements
- Handle payroll activities and collaborate with the HR and the global mobility team to ensure accurate payroll processing and posting
- Prepare quarterly budget and monthly cash flow forecast
- Identify process improvement opportunities and implement enhancement to strengthen financial controls
- Handle transfer pricing, recharging and monthly reconciliations between intercompany within the Group
- Ensure the accuracy and completeness of the accounting records and the efficiency of the internal controls are in place which aligning with the FT global policy
- Coordinate with the Group Accounting Services team in Manila for AP/AR related matters and assist in providing on-going financial support to different partners
- Support the Travel Management Company and Corporate Credit Cards process
- Collaborate with different partners and business functions to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness
- Liaise with external auditors and tax agents for preparing annual statutory audit and GST/Corporate tax filing
- Handle ad hoc projects and other functions as assigned
You'll bring to the role....
- Degree holder in Accounting or related subject areas
- Member of HKICPA or equivalent qualification in professional institutions
- A demonstrated ability in accounting/auditing of which having experience in external audit/CPA firm will be an advantage
- Intermediate to advanced level in MS Office such as Words and Excel
- Detail-minded with strong sense of responsibility, willingness to learn and strike for improvement
- Organisational, problem solving and trouble shooting skills are essential
- Able to work independently with limited direct supervision as well as work well and being proactive as a team member
- Able to work under pressure with tight deadlines in a dynamic and changing environment
- Good command of English and Chinese languages
- Effective communication skills and who can build and maintain effective working relationships within the team and across the businesses
- Experience in Oracle is a plus
