The University has taken a proactive role in ensuring and cultivating a positive learning environment for students, where equal opportunities in academic and non-academic pursuit for each individual student are guaranteed. The Counseling and Wellness Center provides a wide range of services including personal counseling, peer support network through preventive measures, and coordination of support services to benefit students with special educational needs (SEN) from a total university experience.
We are looking for candidates who are passionate about working with students through different initiatives towards an inclusive campus. The appointee will be responsible for (a) delivering individualized services for students, (b) launching campus-wide initiatives and assisting student group activities, (c) supporting reports, analysis and management of student database, and (d) carrying out general support of team administrative duties and activities. The appointee is expected to work in close collaboration with different internal and external stakeholders to assist students in maximizing the benefits from their educational experience, and meeting their challenges with a proactive and growth mindset.
Applicants should have a bachelor’s degree preferably in special education, social work, counseling, education or health related fields, with at least 1-2 years of post-qualification work experience. The appointee should demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills, and have a keen interest in working with university students. Apart from being an empathetic and self-motivated person, the appointee is expected to be proficient in English and Chinese (Cantonese and Putonghua) and competent in the use of technology-based office productivity applications. Preference will be given to those with relevant experience in organizing student activities. Irregular working hours are required. (Duration: 2 years, renewable)
Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided. A gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of contract.
