Senior Software Developer/Software Developer (at the rank of IT Officer/IT Technician) (2 posts) in the Information Technology Services (Ref.: 524038) 

Information Technology Services (ITS) provides central IT services to support the University’s teaching, learning, research and administrative activities. ITS is transforming its organization to support its new strategic development and strategic adoption of new technologies. Information about ITS can be obtained at https://www.its.hku.hk/.

We are currently looking for high-caliber IT talents to join us in implementing and supporting our University's finance systems. The successful candidates will have the opportunity to work on challenging projects, leveraging their technical expertise to design, develop, and integrate tailored software solutions.

The Role

The appointees will develop and maintain in-house and other finance systems including Oracle e-Business Suite, iExpenses, and eProcurement. They will collect and analyse user requirements, design systems, perform programming and testing, provide technical support, and liaise with administrative offices/departmental users internally and solutions consultants externally.

Qualifications and Qualities

Applicants should (1) possess a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or a related discipline, with (2) solid experience in software application development and support, and (3) good command of written and spoken English, and (4) good communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.

Applicants with good knowledge of and relevant experience in any of the following areas are preferred:
• Web & app programming (Java, Servlet) and web technologies (HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery, Ajax, Node.js)
• Oracle EBS R12 (GL, AP, FA, AR, iExpenses), eProcurement Cloud, PL/SQL, BIP, OTBI and Unix Shell scripts
• Microsoft Power Platform (including Power App, Power BI, Power Automate)

Those with less experience may be considered for appointment as Software Developer.

What We Offer

The appointment will be made on fixed-term full-time contract for 2 years, and commence as soon as possible with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, together with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme at 10% of basic salary. Other benefits include annual leave and medical benefits.
