BlueSky Precision Medicine Ltd. Is currently developing a comprehensive screening method to detect the risk of developing Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in infants and toddlers. The comprehensive approach includes the usage of Electroencephalogram (EEG) technology, Genetic testing (Whole genome Sequencing), and pediatric clinical screenings in infants and toddlers.
We are doing so by improving predictive values of multiple diagnostic methods (EEG, Gene testing, clinical screening) and providing tailor-made clinical interventions in order to improve treatment outcomes.
Research assistant at BlueSky will be able to gain experience in the clinical field of developmental psychology by assisting our founder/main pediatrician Dr. Lam Wai Fan Fanny who has many years of experience in practicing as a developmental-behavioral pediatrician and lecturer in many universities, conferences, and NGOs. This will provide valuable experience for those who are looking to enter the field/path of clinical/educational psychology and developmental-behavioral pediatrician.
Main Responsibilities:
Engaging in interactions with ASD patients and families, including explaining clinical assessment procedures, performing parental interviews, scheduling, and collecting patient background information (e.g. family background, school/caretaker feedback)
Performing EEG screening procedures with infants and toddlers (after training provided by BlueSky and associated university study labs)
Assisting in applying the use of multiple diagnostic approaches using EEG, various genetic testing, and clinical assessment to refine clinical findings associated with the risk of ASD
Assisting in follow-up checkups, interventions, and treatment plans with patients and families, tracking the prognosis of those evaluated with a high risk of developing ASD
Coordinating BlueSky’s partnerships with different parties (e.g. research labs, medical/genetic screening service providers, practicing clinical/educational psychologist, and therapist of various specialties)
Candidates with familiarity to the psychology/clinical field are preferred, but not required. All skills listed are all preferences also, not hard requirements.
