We are seeking a talented and motivated Embedded Systems Research Engineer to join our innovative R&D team. The successful candidate will contribute to cutting-edge research projects in embedded systems, focusing on the intersection of hardware and software in next-generation IoT devices, edge computing, and smart systems.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct advanced research in embedded systems, with a focus on emerging areas such as AI-enabled edge devices, energy-efficient computing, and secure IoT platforms.
• Design, develop, and implement embedded system and cloud-based software solutions using C++ and other programming languages.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define research objectives, software requirements, and system architectures for novel embedded systems.
• Develop high-quality, scalable, and maintainable code following industry best practices and internal coding standards.
• Debug and troubleshoot complex software issues in experimental embedded systems.
• Stay at the forefront of embedded systems research by continuously studying and applying the latest industry trends, technologies, and methodologies.
• Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and research meetings to drive innovation in embedded systems.
• Publish research findings in academic journals and present at conferences.
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field from a local university or well-recognised non-local institution.
• Strong programming skills in C++ and experience with embedded systems programming.
• Familiarity with real-time operating systems (RTOS) and embedded Linux.
• Knowledge of hardware interfaces and communication protocols (e.g., SPI, I2C, UART).
• Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and software development methodologies.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Master's or Ph.D. degree in a relevant field.
• Research experience in areas such as edge AI, energy-efficient computing, or secure IoT systems.
• Publications in peer-reviewed journals or conferences related to embedded systems.
• Experience with cloud platforms and IoT frameworks.
Additional Requirements:
• Must hold a valid Hong Kong work visa.
• This is an on-site position requiring presence in our Hong Kong office for the majority of working hours.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a research-oriented environment.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; Cantonese and/or Mandarin is a plus.

Pay: $20,000.00 - $25,000.00 per month
