The Department
Supports the Senior Sustainability Specialist to enhance initiatives to change into better materials and their use, with an outcome of driving efficiency and, diver waste from landfill. Gather and manages data to develop insights and inform the development of policies and solutions.
Responsible to educate, review materials composition to support procurement decisions and develop technical guidelines for the business implementation functions, as well as bringing new ideas and benchmarks to support innovation in the targeted processes.
The Job
You will:
• Support the Senior Sustainability Specialist in the identification of new circular business initiatives, models, and solutions from idea, through pilot and scale to fully integrate into the organization.
• Collaborates with Racing, Property, and Procurement, on developing policies and guidelines to define, intensify, and embed closed closed-loop material management into the Club’s processes.
• Supports the business functions in the execution of Roadmaps and the adoption of sustainable materials, waste reduction, and the reduction of Club dependencies on finite resources. Ensure the roadmap assigned to the different business functions and annual KPIs are in line with the Plans and the circularity program.
• Develop training material and guidelines to unlock the potential of new business model solutions for services, products, and materials end of life.
• Analyse, track, and report circular metrics and business impact on a regular basis including waste of materials diverted, benchmark emerging recycling technologies, and any capital investment embeds circularity.
• Analyses, monitors, and further develops technological foundations in the areas of reuse, reduction, and recycling. Defines and ensures business functions deliver the data needed to track materials.
• Ensures the data is verified and aligned with the requirements of the key industry reporting platforms, such as CDP, GRI, TCFD.
• Create and maintain management systems in partnership with business functions, with a primary focus on substantiation for public reporting.
• Participate and contribute positively to create a diverse and inclusive culture with trust and respect. Play an active role to support cross-team/division/department efforts and model collaborative behaviours.
About You
You should have:
• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, demonstrating an understanding of implementing sustainability programs in a large for-profit organization.
• 1 - 2 years of experience in the field of environmental sustainability. Circularity and Waste management are a plus.
• Able to write guidelines, procedures, and business cases.
• Experienced to set up data systems, assess and monitor waste aspects and impacts of operational activities.
• Analyse information and data in a manner that highlights key issues and root causes.
• Technical knowledge of Materials and Waste Management, and Circular processes, and policy development.
• Capabilities to educate and guide the business and employees.
• Experienced working with waste data, and tools to manage it.
• Be able to evaluate environmental technologies and process change to achieve material use optimization.
• Knowledge of Hong Kong and China government waste regulation.
• Proven ability to scope and manage technical environmental consultants.
• Preferred level of proficiency in written and spoken English and Mandarin.
• Fresh graduates with a relevant degree are welcome
Terms of Employment
The level of appointment will be commensurate with qualification and experience. A contract employment will be offered to the successful candidate. Contract renewal will be subject to mutual agreement between the Club and the selected candidate.
