Summary
We are seeking a mobile developer with experience in both Kotlin to design, develop, and maintain mobile applications for both Android platform, supporting the development of our research and development of a self-service payment platform to be launched on taxi vehicles. The ideal candidate will have experience in releasing apps on the Google Play Store, and will understand the demands of supporting a production app. Experience in working with custom hardware is also an advantage. Additionally, knowledge of CI/CD and experience in automated testing is required.
Research Areas
• Development of a native Android mobile application specifically designed to operate on a customer hardware (taxi meter)
• Integrate meter application with Transaction Back-End to constantly update meter data to backend to create seamless payment experience at the mobile application
• Integrate with driver pairing system to allow Drivers to pair their account to activate digital payment with the meter and the associate payment terminal
• Continued research and development of functionalities to support future usage trends of Drivers and Fleets on meter and fleet management systems
• Develop functionalities and associate supporting mobile appliication to support easy installation, setup, maintenance and switch-out of meter devices by third party service centers.
• Development on meter application 2.0 with hardware to hardware wired linkage between meter and payment terminal, so as to improve communication speed and stability
• Develop customized flow on meter application to support error cases
• Integrate device with Mobile Device Manager platform to enable over the air control of device
Responsibility
• Design, develop, and maintain mobile applications for both Android and iOS platforms using Flutter and Kotlin.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
• Participate in code reviews and ensure code quality and best practices.
• Troubleshoot and debug issues in production and non-production environments.
• Release and maintain apps on the App Store and Google Play Store.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate mobile applications with our cloud-based applications.
• Work with custom hardware and develop mobile applications that interface with them.
• Implement automated testing and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
• Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in mobile development.
Requirement
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 3-8 years of experience in mobile development, with a focus on Flutter and Kotlin.
• Strong understanding of mobile development best practices.
• Knowledge of RESTful APIs and integration with other systems.
• Experience with Git and familiarity with agile development methodologies.
• Experience in releasing apps on the App Store and Google Play Store.
• Experience in working with custom hardware and OTA upgrade strategy is an advantage.
• Knowledge of CI/CD (e.g. github action) tools and experience in automated testing.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
