About This Role
As we continue our aggressive growth trajectory and strive to be a product-led organization, we are looking for talented individuals to help lead and execute on our product strategy. You will be in a unique position at the WeLab Group level to influence and shape the product roadmap for all our businesses and products for each market we operate in (Hong Kong, Mainland China and Indonesia). At any time, you will be operating at both 10 feet deep and 10,000 feet high, driving execution at the business unit level, side by side with each business’ product team, as well as identifying synergies across markets and business lines. Along with the Group Head of Digital Experience and Product Innovation and other senior stakeholders, you will be responsible for ensuring all products and all markets are aligned with overall company strategy and forge new paths for us to embark on.
While this is an individual contributor role, you will be leading digital experience and product innovation initiatives where you will manage cross-functional stakeholders and team members including other product managers, engineers and designers of various business units and external stakeholders. You will be responsible for ensuring best practices in product management, innovation and solution development are implemented across the entire product such as customer-centric design and strategic experimentation. You will be expected to contribute meaningfully to ideation based on a deep understanding of customer desirability, technical feasibility and commercial viability. You will also be responsible for ensuring that WeLab is at the forefront of technology by being in tune with the latest and newest technologies that are applicable to the business.
What you’ll do and what success looks like in this role
• Work closely with Group Head of Digital Experience and Product Innovation across all of WeLab’s businesses to formulate overall WeLab digital experience strategy and product innovation roadmap and work with each business to effectively deliver according to the overall strategy
• Have the foresight to formulate the technical vision and development of WeLab products for the next 5 years, but also have the ability to execute on short term initiatives
• Spearhead and implement initiatives that allow for better, more-informed, data-driven decision making across the entire organization
• Identify synergies across all WeLab businesses whether it’s standardizing technologies across markets, sharing customer insights or go-to-market strategies for other products
• Painstakingly in-tune with the latest tech and product trends and developments around the world and constantly aware of new, innovative business models
• Identify and implement new technologies and drive innovative ideas and solutions that will enhance WeLab’s products or operation efficiency
• Build, implement and cultivate strong customer-centricity culture and human-center design thinking best practices – instill habit of rapid and continuous testing and learning, continuous innovation and collaboration, effective product reviews and other product-related processes and procedures
• Build, lead, manage and mentor product, customer experiences or other related teams to design and deliver products that empower customers on their financial journey
• Support Group Head of Digital Experience and Product Innovation building and launching the best fintech products, services and B2B solution with superior user experience, making product WeLab’s competitive advantage.
What Is Required And What We’re Looking For
• 10+ years of work experience, with 5-8 years of product management experience, ideating, building and optimizing digital products and experiences
• Banking product knowledge is a MUST; Previous experience in fintech, start-ups and B2B business will be a plus
• Get a thrill out of tackling complicated and sometimes unexpected product and business problems
• Excellent communication skills in English & Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin) (both verbal and written)
• Strong eagerness to both lead and build: strong strategic and logical thinking with ability to execute
• Experience driving multiple product initiatives simultaneously, working with cross-functional teams
