Site Operations Department
The Site Operations Department is responsible for the overall health of all mechanical and electrical systems, building maintenance, and performance of all data modules in our data centers. The team is staffed 24 x 7 onsite with Critical Facilities Engineers (CFEs) working on shift. This team is the face of Vantage to our customers and the guaranty of business continuity and excellence of Operations of our campus as well as the performance of our customer installations. Using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to plan and track maintenance activities, the Site Operations department is responsible for all preventative and corrective maintenance. Critical Facilities Engineers are members of the Critical Facility Engineering team that play a crucial role in maintaining the overall health of our data center’s infrastructure systems to ensure that our customers receive best-in-class data center services. The Critical Facility Engineers at Vantage manage vital electrical and mechanical infrastructure as part of our daily operation and possess expertise in mission critical facility management. Responsibilities include facility maintenance and capacity management, performance optimization, and providing rapid response and performing repairs when unplanned events occur.
Responsibilities
• Oversee and support testing, inspection, and validation of critical equipment and technical systems, spares, plant, and facilities
• Maintain constant monitoring of the site by utilizing our Building Management System and other available systems, as well as conducting walkthroughs on a regular basis
• Ensure that maintenance activities are planned, prepared, executed, and reported to the highest standard possible with a focus on reliability, energy efficiency and continuity of services.
• Contribute to providing electrical solutions and perform switching operations for planned and unplanned events
• Perform periodic technical and quality reviews of all MOP, SOP, and ERP to ensure that the latest technology and safety guidelines are being used as well as to ensure compliance with Government regulations.
• Maintain a thorough understanding of the critical infrastructure design intent, the sequence of operations, the fault conditions, and the corrective actions associated with them.
• Review Change Records, Work Orders, Service Plan Events, and associated schedules for upcoming planned work's approval
• Assist post-event analysis, including compilation of reports and the identification of root causes, lessons learned and mitigation and remediation activities to address the issues in a timely manner.
• Ensure the team are undertaking skill development with visible evidence of competency in VDC operational requirements and procedures
Job Requirements
• Diploma/Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or relevant discipline
• Registered Electrical Worker (REW) license holders in Hong Kong
• 5-7 years working experience in building, electrical and / or HVAC operation and maintenance.
• Working knowledge of operating, maintaining, repairing, inspecting, and testing of electrical distribution systems including generators and UPS system, and or HVAC systems, and or Fire Systems and or building management/automation systems.
• High level of computer literacy (mainly Word, Excel, and databases)
• Prepared to work on a rotating 24/7 shift basis, weekends, public holidays and be available for emergency response
• Prepared to wear PPE and working in extreme conditions
• Hands-on experience in maintenance/repair on Facilities, Machinery or equivalent Familiar with maintaining schedules and working with vendors
• Be assertive, committed, and able to perform multiple tasks independently and efficiently
• Be a team player with good communication skills, able to interact with clients, consultants, subcontractors, Government authorities and team from all levels
