Applications are invited for the position of Part-time Research Associate(s) / Research Assistant(s) / Junior Research Assistant(s) to support language education projects.
Applicants should have (i) a good Bachelor’s degree or above, preferably in Applied Linguistics, Computational Linguistics, Artificial Intelligence or a related discipline (for Research Assistant/Junior Research Assistant) or a Master’s degree in the abovementioned disciplines plus four years of post-qualification relevant experience (for Research Associate); (ii) research experience and knowledge of qualitative and quantitative research methods; (iii) a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese; and (iv) a good sense of responsibility, the ability to work independently and good interpersonal skills for interacting with team members and research participants. Candidates with less experience may be considered for appointment as Junior Research Assistant.
The appointee(s) will be responsible for (a) assisting in literature search and review; (b) developing educational technologies; (c) designing instruments and conducting data collection, analysis and checking; (d) compiling research reports and other forms of outputs; and (e) contributing to other project activities as required. On-the-job training and mentoring will be provided.
Appointment will initially be made on contract basis for up to six months, renewable subject to mutual agreement.
