The position is accountable for delivering and supporting automation solutions for the IT Quality Assurance and Testing Services Team. The role demands experience in leading teams to develop and implement critical DevOps automated solutions.
The position involves both leadership and hands-on development, requiring excellent stakeholder relationship management skills to effectively lead and oversee vendors in delivering automated solutions to our organization.
Responsibilities:
• Leading the design and implementation of automated testing strategies and frameworks
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize areas for test automation.
• Developing and maintaining web, mobile & API automated test scripts and tools.
• Providing technical leadership and guidance to the QA and testing team.
• Ensuring the quality and reliability of automated test suites.
• Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement in the automation process.
• Staying updated on industry best practices and emerging technologies in test automation.
• Innovate to improve future processes and deployments.
• Lead teams consisting of cross- functional, global groups, directly supervise staff, assign responsibility to members to develop technical automation solutions.
• Coach, mentor and support less experienced team members.
• Ensure that all implementations of automated tools meet the requirements prescribed by IT Services through the effective implementation or use of approved processes, methodologies and deliverables.
Knowledge and Skills requirements:
• Strong experience in leading teams to develop and implement automation solutions, particularly in the DevOps environment.
• In-depth knowledge and practical experience with web and mobile automation tools and frameworks, such as Playwright, Selenium, Appium or any mobile device frame (e.g. BrowserStack)
• Proficiency in programming and scripting languages commonly used in automation, such as Python, Java, or Shell scripting.
• Hands-on experience with continuous integration/continuous deployment(CI/CD) pipelines and related tools (e.g. JIRA, Jenkins, Git, Docker).
• Excellent understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and quality assurance principles.
• Proven ability to manage stakeholder relationships and effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to guide and mentor team members.
• Experience in managing and coordinating vendors to deliver automated solutions.
• A proactive and innovative mindset, with a focus on continuous improvement and staying updated on industry best practices in automation and testing.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
Qualifications:
• A bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
• Extensive experience in leading automation initiatives within the IT quality assurance and testing domain.
• 7 to 10 years of experience working in an IT environment as a supervisor, Tech Lead, and/or Architect.
• 5 to 10 years’ experience creating automated solutions for deployments and builds.
• 2-5 years of experience working to implement a DevOps culture using automated tools.
• Experience working Agile/Scrum environment required.
• Experience with Kanban would be a plus.
• Experience in managing DevOps organizations would be a plus.
• Experience in a professional services industry, preferred.
