We are seeking a highly skilled Legal Counsel specializing in Data Protection to join a dynamic legal team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in advising on legal matters related to data protection, privacy, and compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide expert legal advice on data protection laws, including GDPR, PDPO, and other relevant regulations.
• Draft, review, and negotiate data protection agreements, privacy policies, and compliance documentation.
• Conduct data protection impact assessments and assist in the implementation of data protection strategies.
• Monitor legal developments and regulatory changes in the field of data protection and privacy.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including IT, compliance, and business units, to ensure adherence to data protection regulations.
• Conduct training and awareness programs on data protection and privacy policies for employees.
• Handle data subject requests and manage incident response plans related to data breaches.
Qualifications:
• Qualified lawyer with at least 2 PQE in data protection and privacy law OR paralegals with 2+ years of experiences in the relevant area
• Strong knowledge of data protection regulations, including GDPR and local laws.
• Experience in drafting and negotiating data protection agreements and policies.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate complex legal concepts clearly.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
